Owning a paralyzed dog or cat is not easy for any pet owner by their specific demands. That is why very often paralyzed dogs are abandoned by their owners.
Luneta was a beautiful little dog but unfortunately, she was paralyzed and dumped on the streets of Salta, Argentina. Fortunately, one of the dog care staff noticed Lunetta and was horrified by her, so the good person called the rescue group Luba Salta. Soon two volunteers hurried to check Lunetta’s health and pick her up.
She was discovered while lying face down on the sidewalk and was tied to a rail near the dog care establishment. Her hind legs were tied to a rusty wheelchair. Next to her, there was a bag of diapers and a message with her name, age, and explanation. Her previous owners indicated that they could not keep her and although they did not leave her any food or drink.
They took her to a shelter and then she was placed in a foster family. Volunteers shared her details on Facebook in the hope of finding a family for her. Finally, an American family contacted the group and offered to give Lunetta a permanent home.
Unfortunately, not everything went well for Lunetta in her new home. The family did not know how to take care of a disabled dog adequately and ended up ignoring her, as a result of which Lunetta contracted a very bad staphylococcal disease.
She needs tremendous effort and medical care to help her heal all the problems. After that, another American family intervened and offered Lunetta a house. Along with her new family and wonderful health, she has become one of the happiest dogs we have ever seen. She can play with her dog sister, head around with a specially built wheelchair, visit parks, play in the snow, and even have Christmas celebrations.
Unfortunately, barely a month after celebrating her 11th anniversary, she became unwell and had to be transferred to the intensive care unit of the University Medical Hospital, where she again fought for her life and died away surrounded by her loved ones.
Lunetta’s mother posted on Facebook: “I will never forget her and how much she meant to me.”. “It has affected my life forever. I loved her very much.”
Lunetta’s journey has come to a conclusion and is an excellent example of resilience. But one thing is for sure, that the last year of Lunetta’s life was her greatest ever. Share this article with all your friends to pray for this great dog! Rest in peace, Lunetta!
